With relationships often being confusing these days, it can be hard to know where you are at. That is why we created the following situationship quiz to help you assess where your relationship is at. Begin by asking yourself the following questions:
Have you had the conversation about your relationship status - are you boyfriend/girlfriend? Do you feel like this topic is being ignored? Maybe you have asked the question and the response is, "oh, we are just hanging out."
Do you feel like you don't know where the relationship is going? Does there seem to be a lack of intentionality? Is the relationship more focused on the here and now?
Does your partner flirt with others? Do you feel like you are just another person to them, rather than their special person?
Healthy relationships are built around good communication. Do you feel like you are constantly wondering where the other person is at? Do you feel a lack of safety when you bring up certain topics?
This is a huge indicator that you are in a situationship. Situationships are at their core defined by a lack of direction.
This is another big indicator. Situationships are casual. Conversations within them are casual. It can be hard to bring up deep topics, partly because the depth of knowing the other person does not exist and therefore trust is lacking.
Do you care about each other's mental and emotional health? Or do you feel like the entire relationship is centered around physical attraction and connection?
Are they hesitant about you meeting their friends and family? This could be a sign that they are not serious.
You cannot be in a real relationship if you cannot be yourself. Do you feel like you have to be someone else around them?
This is a sign of a one-sided relationship, which is how a situationship often manifests itself.
If you answered yes to the majority of these ten questions, then it is quite probable that you are in a situationship.
Here are Luli Health, we believe you are worthy of the real thing - a healthy, committed relationship where you are valued and supported. Girl, don’t settle for less. True love is out there for you.
